Miniature Pinscher - Weasel - Small - Adult - Male - Dog
Weasel was taken into Underdog Resqs foster program in early September when his time was up at the shelter he was in. Weasel is guessed to be a mix of Chihuahua/Min Pin and maybe Dachshund. He has a really long neck and really long, slender body which is why his name is Weasel! Hes about 6.5 pounds but could use another pound or so, hes a little on the thin side. Weasel is approximately 1-2 years old but is really 110% puppy! Weasel is a high energy very in your face sort of puppy. He loves to play with both humans and other dogs. But, because of his easy excitability and lack of manners, at this point his ideal forever home would be one with children 10 and older (if any) and with dogs that dont mind being nudged to play. I do think Weasel would love a house with other dogs to play with, just ones that could tolerate his puppy like behaviors. He has had some minor possession issues with the Min Pin in his foster home when it comes to toys. Both dogs are rather head strong and because his foster brother is very set in his ways, they sometimes dont want to share. Weasel needs someone that can take the time to train him, teach him his boundaries and exercise him for at least 20 minutes 3 times a day. Weasel does great on a leash. He loves to run and chase things and is extremely fast! Weasel did learn Sit within two days but really needs to learn Come and other basic commands. He would benefit greatly from a basic obedience class. Not only would he learn basic commands but also how to behave around other dogs. Weasel is house trained but only subtly says when he needs to go out. Like with most small dogs, getting outside often is best. He absolutely loves to snuggle at night and during nap times. He burrows under the covers when he can and snuggles right up to his foster mom.
